  50.   If you want to reuse your configuration files of an older version of Print-
  51.   Format with a newer one, the table below shows you, if this is possible.

  53.   If you change to a newer version, the line right to the newer version
  54.   will contain an (1) or an -.
  55.  
  56.   An (1) means, that you can keep your file, if you modify it according to
  57.   the procedure described below.
  58.  
  59.   An (-) means, that you can't reuse the file, even after modifying it
  60.   (if you modify the file anyway, Print-Format might crash, if you try to
  61.   load the file).

  63.   If you skip a version, you can only successfully modify your files, if
  64.   every version in between allows this modification.

  83.   2.1 File modification procedure

  86.   If you can modify your existing configuration files from the older
  87.   Print-Format version (called 2.xx) to the newer (called 2.yy), the
  88.   changes, you will have to make, is to edit the header of the file
  89.   from "Print-Format V 2.xx" to "Print-Format V 2.yy".
  90.   (It's safe, to create backup copies, before you start.)

  92.   You can do this with tools like a disk editor e. g. DiskEdit
  93.   (Norton Utilities) or the hex file viewer/editor of XTreeGold.

  95.   You can also use Windows Write to edit the files (refuse the offer to
  96.   convert the file to Windows Write, change the file version from  "2.xx"
  97.   to "2.yy" and save the file).
